Driven by a passion to understand how exercise, and particularly Yoga, positively impacts mental and physical wellbeing, Jeanette trained in 2001 as a registered Fitness Leader (Certificate IV Personal Trainer and Group Fitness) and completed Yoga Teacher Training with Byron Yoga Centre (Level Two). She has benefitted from extended Yoga Teacher Training with senior teachers Judy Krupp (The Yoga Room, St Ives) and Maria Kirsten (Yoga for Grown Ups). This has enabled her to deepen her knowledge of the use, modification and adaptation of yoga asanas (postures) to assist people with various health challenges and injury issues to practice safely and gain benefit from Yoga.
With her experience as a Health Education Officer in Public Health settings, Jeanette is able to provide classes that respond to individual needs, whether that is to support recovery from injury, respond to age-related issues, or to provide much needed stress management through working with breath and body.
While there are many places to practice Yoga in our community, these classes are often large and not focussed on individual needs. The opportunity to practice in a small group brings a deeper understanding of your own body, as there is time to modify and adjust the practice to discover your own experience of Yoga.
